Computer Vision Syndrome

Computer vision syndrome (CVS) is eye-related problems and the other symptoms caused by prolonged computer use. As dependency on computers grow today, the need for medical attention for eye strain and irritation increase for individuals using a computer.

Looking at your monitor can lead to common symptoms of CVS:

  • headaches
  • eyestrain
  • blurred vision
  • dry and irritated eyes
  • slow refocusing
  • neck and/or bachache
  • sensitivity to light
  • double vision
  • color distortion

Studies show 50%-90% of computer users experience the symptoms of CVS and the good news is that they can be fixed by good eye care and/or changes in the work environment.
